ESA Has Closed the Book on Ariane 6 Block 3. What That Means for Every European Launch-Adjacent Venture.

What Was Block 3, and What Did It Promise?

What Block 2 Actually Is

It is worth being precise about what Ariane 6 still has ahead of it. The European New-Entrant Response

For European launch, the reusability answer is meant to come from a new cohort of companies operating through ESA's BEST! initiative and European Launcher Challenge. For Founders

If you are building payloads or satellite services around heavy-lift performance assumptions, revisit your launch architecture now. The Block 3 decision did not make European launch uncompetitive overnight. Ariane 6 has real orders, a credible cadence ahead of it, and a Block 2 upgrade now operational. What CM25 confirmed is that the institutional path to European launch competitiveness runs through new entrants, not through incremental upgrades to the existing architecture. Founders who understood that already are in the right position. Founders who were still waiting for European institutions to fix the rocket should stop waiting.
